As I have been thinking about communion this week, I have been
thinking about it is great to have a time each week where we stop and
remember Jesus and what He has done for us. It is good to be able to
stop and focus.
John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you are truly

If you are born of
God, you are an overcomer. Jesus said that He has overcome the world. We
are with Christ and He promises to never leave us or forsake us. So
overcoming should be the default setting for us.

earth. Communion is a great time to commit or re-commit your ways to the

suffering does not last forever, and that God will restore, support and
strengthen you. It is a promise from the King. Suffering has a way of
making our worlds smaller and insular. But Christ includes us in HIs
Kingdom. His death for us opens eternity to us. It makes our worlds much
larger. We need to understand our current troubles are small in light of
Colossians 3:1-2 Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at Gods right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.
Set your heart and
mind on things above. When our hearts and minds are focused on things
above, our lives naturally rise above the worries and cares of life. As
the old song says our feet are lifted out of the miry clay and placed on
