Put it into practice

March 17th, 2016

Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me–put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:9 NIV

This is the Apostle Paul speaking to the church at Philippi and asking them to follow his example in how he did things. I like the four words of example that Paul used. He said whatever you have “learned, received, heard and seen” in him, to put into practice. It was not just about what Paul said, it was more about modelling a way of life as he followed Jesus. This also reminds me 1 Corinthians 11:1 in which Paul also said, “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.” Paul was very confident in his walk with Christ. He was confident that if others followed him, then they would be on the right track.

Lord I thank You for the Apostle Paul’s example that we can follow. Thank You that he modeled the right way of living so that people could put into practice what they had learned, received, heard and seen in him. I pray that my life would also be an example. I pray that others can learn what it is to truly follow You by looking at the way I live. Amen.
