God hears your prayers

October 21st, 2015

I was talking to someone recently and they said they felt like their prayers were bouncing off the ceiling. They felt that God did not seem to be listening or answering their prayers.

They were going through a hard time and were feeling a bit spiritually dry. So I prayed for them and encouraged them with Psalm 4:3. It says, “You can be sure of this: The Lord set apart the godly for himself. The Lord will answer when I call to him.”

This is David praying to God, but we can also draw on it today for ourselves. The “godly” in this verse are those who are faithful and devoted to God.

David knew that God would hear his prayers and that He would answer him. We, too, can be confident that God listens to our prayers and answers when we call on him.

Sometimes we think that God will not hear us because we are going through a hard time and we feel spiritually dry. Or we might have taken our eyes off God and His Kingdom.

But the reality is that if we have trusted Christ for salvation, God has forgiven us, and he hears our prayers. The way to the Father is open fully.

If you are like my friend and you feel as though your prayers are bouncing off the ceiling, remember that as someone who trusts in Christ you have been set apart by God and that he loves you.

We need to remember His eyes, ears, hands and heart are always open to us.

God Bless,
