Five Bible verses for 2015

January 4th, 2015

I have been thinking about living the Christian life in 2015 and what it is going to look like for my family and I. I decided to write a list of Bible verses/passages that would help shape 2015.

Today I thought I would share them with you…

Mark 12:30-31 – And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.

Hebrews 12:1  – Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

Matthew 5:16  – In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.

Colossians 3:1-2 – Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.

To summarise – Love God and your neighbour, run your own race, let your light shine, trust God and seek His will, and set your mind on the eternal realities of God and heaven.
