Praying for your church members in 2014

December 31st, 2013

As 2014 fast approaches I have been thinking of ways I can be a blessing to the people in our church. One of the major ways is to pray for them each day by name.

Here is a weekly prayer routine I used when I was leading one church. When I did it I constantly got feedback from people of how different they felt as they went through the week.

Monday – Spiritual growth – growth in their relationship with God, their understanding of the Bible, in their prayer life and in service.

Tuesday – Protection – protection spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally and in their travels.

Wednesday – Salvation of loved ones – we pray for all of the family members to come to know Jesus personally.

Thursday – Health – we pray for health in general and for any health issues we have been asked to pray for. This includes any surgery or treatment coming up.

Friday – Relationships – we pray for strong marriages and family relationships. We also pray for any relationships that may have been damaged to be restored.

Saturday – Provision for needs – we pray that God will supply their needs and that God would bless their income and work.

Sunday – Spiritual guidance – we pray and ask God to speak to them through the Holy Spirit, with the Bible and to guide and lead them in all they do.

As we pray we are open to God to prompt us to pray for any issues that need to be covered. In this time we also remember things people have specifically asked us to pray for.

Depending on the size of your church you can pray for them by name or by family name.

God Bless,

Dave
