Think before you speak

May 18th, 2013

I walked in to the youth centre last night to pick up our girls from youth group. I was a few minutes early so I stood in the back to listen to our Youth Pastor’s message to the teenagers.

He was talking about using your words well to build up and encourage. He also touched on not passing on gossip.

He finished with this accronym as a guide – T.H.I.N.K.

T – Is it True?
H – Is it Helpful?
I – Is it Inspirational?
N – Is it Nice?
K – Is it Kind?

I thought it was a great lesson to passing on to our kids and the young people in Merredin. It is a good reminder for all of us too.

It reminds me of Ephesians 4:29 “Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.”

God Bless,
