Flicking the switch of the mind

July 19th, 2012

Over the last few weeks God has been speaking to me about how important our thoughts and our minds are in living the Christian life effectively. You can find one post here.

A couple of days ago while I was praying He said the following to me…

“The mind is the switch between the supernatural and the natural. Power flows from heaven through the mind. It is the seat of belief or unbelief. Faith and belief open the floodgates of heaven.”

He then went on to say the importance of renewing our mind (Romans 12:2) and the need to have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:15-16). He said that if we have the mind of Christ we will do the things Christ did. We would have no fear, no doubt, only love, compassion, healing and salvation.

These things just reinforced to me the importance of our thinking and the beliefs that we hold in our hearts and minds.

If we think about it Jesus could not perform any miracles in His home town as they did not believe. Contrast this to the numerous people whom Jesus said, “Your faith has made you well”. Faith and belief in Who He was and what He could do.

As I think about this now I am reminded of the great preachers of old who just believed God. They believed in Who He was and His power, and they believed that God’s Word was God’s Word – that is was Yes and Amen.

This is the same with the great preachers of today. They see hundreds of miracles each week and thousands of people getting saved in their crusade events. The heavens are open because in their minds they believe God is going to move.

Heavenly Father, I pray today you will open our hearts and minds to You. Help us to flick the switch of our minds, so we believe in Who You are and what You can do through us. I ask in Jesus name, Amen.

God Bless,
