Set your mind right

The verse of the day today on my website is Philippians 4:8. It says, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. ”

As I saw this verse this morning I started to think and pray about our minds and how important our mind is to the choices we make and the directions we go.

Here are a few verses from the Bible about our minds and some things we should do…

1. Our minds need to be made new

Romans 12:2 – Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

2. We must set them on things above

Colossians 3:2-3 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

3. We must prepare them to serve God effectively

1 Peter 1:13 – Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.

4. We must love God will all our minds

Matthew 22:37  – Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

5. We must be of one mind as Christians

2 Corinthians 13:11 – Finally, brothers, good-by. Aim for perfection, listen to my appeal, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.

Our minds are so important to our Christian walk. They determine many of the things we do and many of the things we don’t do.

Let’s all make sure we set our minds right today. Let’s set them on “things above, not on the earth below”.
