God’s Kingdom breaking in and taking over my life

June 29th, 2012

I have been thinking about God’s Kingdom a lot lately. In particular how it breaks into our world.

In Old Testament times we see God’s Kingdom broke in by the miracles of the Red Sea parting, Elijah with fire falling from heaven, the sun standing still and many many others miracles.

Now since Christ came 2000 years ago, God’s Kingdom has permanently broken in to our world. It was part of John the Baptists message (Matthew 3:2) and part of Jesus’ first sermon (Matthew 4:17).

God’s Kingdom – His rule and reign – permanently entered human history in and through Christ. It dwells permanently within the hearts and minds of those who trust Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

I remember when I came to Christ back in 1989 God’s Kingdom came to me. It changed my whole world progressively. At first it was the size of a mustard seed, but now it is all consuming.

Each day I walk with Christ His Kingdom overcomes me more and more. This happens as I come to understand it more and as I allow it to happen, as I surrender to His Kingdom purposes and as I yield to the indwelling Holy Spirit.

Living in God’s Kingdom is the place we are created to live. We really are spiritual beings living a human experience, not human beings having a spiritual experience.

It is my hope and prayer that today you can say you are living in God’s eternal Kingdom. That you are walking with God every moment of everyday and that you are surrendering more and more to His rule and reign each day.

God Bless,

Dave
