What Easter gives us today

April 5th, 2010

Some people may think that Easter happened 2000 years ago and it is irrelevant to us today. I don’t believe this is true. I believe Easter is just as relevant to us today as it was many many years ago when Christ walked the earth.

Here’s a few reasons why…

1. Easter gives us hope – Hope that there is more to this life and that there is a life to come. Jesus’ resurrection gives me hope that one day I will be resurrected to a new life after my life on this earth is done. This hope gives me an incredible joy in my heart.

2. Easter gives us forgivenesss – Jesus came to die on the cross to take the punishment for my sin. He came and dealt with my wrongs. Now I can approach God knowing I am forgiven and cleansed. This gives me an amazing feeling of freedom and acceptance. I don’t have to strive any more.

3. Easter gives us peace – Peace knowing that God is with me wherever I go. Jesus said, “Never will I leave you, or never will I forsake you”. They are great words of comfort knowing that the Creator of the universe is right there with me wherever I go or whatever I face.

Is Easter relevant to us today? I honestly believe that it is. We all need hope, we all need forgiveness and we all need to the peace that comes from knowing God is with us every step of the way.

God Bless,
Dave
