Prayer support

October 20th, 2009

One of the great things I really appreciate is that people pray for me. Recently I experienced this prayer in action and the amazing results.

You see in spring time I can suffer terribly from hayfever. There is just something in the air that really irriatates my nose and it feels like I have a full on flu with lots of sneezing, a sore throat and very itchy eyes. Sometimes this can last for months at a time.

Anyway, last week I had three days in a row where I basically sneezed all day and ended up having to go to bed early each day. I felt like death warmed up as they say. It didn’t matter what I did or what hayfever medication I took, it didn’t touch it.

It came to Wednesday night and I was going to try and go to our weekly prayer meeting at church. I thought I would be ok, but as it got closer I realised I was feeling too unwell due to the hayfever. Instead I texted my Pastor with a prayer request for my hayfever.

I didn’t think any more of it and ended up having an early night. The next day I woke up back to normal. There was a slight itch in my throat, a few sneezes and my eyes were ok. As it turned out the prayer team prayed for me and I haven’t had to take any more medication since.

In the grand scheme of things this might not seem like a big thing. But for me it feels like I walk around with a full on flu for three months each year. It just makes everything that bit harder to do.

I am so glad that I have people in my life that I can call out to and ask them to pray for me. I am glad that people care enough for me that they would keep me before the Lord for the big things and the small things too.  It is just such a blessing to have this prayer support.

God Bless,
