Two hands of the Gospel

October 15th, 2009

This morning I picked up a book I read last year called “Starting a House Church” by Kreider and McClung. I was flicking through and found this interesting statement in the introduction. It said…

We believe that the church has been commissioned to respond with Jesus’ compassion and the good news of the Cross to both the physical and spiritual challenges the world faces. We believe in sharing God’s love with two hands – one hand with food, medicine and clean water, and the other with the message of God’s love.

I really like this statement as sometimes we can’t reach someone’s spiritual need until we have dealt with their physical needs first.

It makes me wonder who’s physical needs I can help meet today? How about you? Is there anyone in your life you can reach out to today?

God Bless,

Dave
