No condemnation

June 9th, 2009

I was just reading Romans chapter 8 for my morning devotions. As I read three parts of this passage really jumped out and spoke to me…

1. Verse 1 – So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.

2. Verses 33-34 – Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.

3. Verses 38-39 – And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

It is great to know that once we come to Christ and we belong to Him that there is now no condemnation from God because of the things we have done or the things we do. He just loves and accepts us.

It is also great to know that we have right standing with God, that Jesus pleads to the Father on our behalf and that nothing in all creation can separate us from God’s love.

That is great news. In fact I believe it is the best news ever 🙂

God Bless,

Dave
