Praise and thanksgiving

May 24th, 2009

In church today I was asked to lead one part of the service. It is the section where we like to offer praise and thanksgiving to God for the all good things He has done for us.

Rather than just one person praying up the front we handed out about 30 peices of paper with positive Bible verses on them that offered praise and thanks to God. I introduced it, read my verse, said a short prayer and opened the floor.

Then the people in the congregation all stood in turn and read their verse. It was a great feeling of watching people stand in turn and read positive statements about who God is and what He has done.

It really started the service off with an attitude of praise. We then moved into our songs which were again very positive and proclaiming God’s greatness and goodness.

If you lead church services it is a great way to proclaim God’s goodness and help people to express their thanks and appreciation for all He has done for them. I would encourage you to try it.

God Bless,

Dave
