A cure for racism

October 31st, 2008

At times it is easy for many to fall into the habit of being racist or discriminating against others.

Not many of us would like to admit it. But in our quieter moments we might think “certain things” about “certain groups” of people.

I have three things that I try to remember if I am ever tempted to fall into wrong thinking patterns about others just because they are different to me.

  1. Every person is made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26)
  2. God knit them together in their mothers womb (Psalms 139:13-14)
  3. Jesus came and died on the cross for them (Romans 5:8)

When you keep these three things in mind, you quickly realise how important each and every person on this earth is to God. It also helps you to see people a whole lot differently.
