Back to the books 2

October 30th, 2008

Back in April I did a post called Back to the books. In it I shared some of the reasons why I decided to return to full time studies as a mature aged student. My reasons were:

  1. To learn and grow in my faith
  2. To expose myself to others teaching
  3. To take some time out from the daily grind of work
  4. To prepare myself for the next things
  5. To refresh my vision

It is interesting to read back over that some six months later. In many ways I feel like those things have been achieved and although I am not fully decided if I am going to continue on next year yet, I feel like I have set out what I planned to do.

In the meantime while I am deciding one verse keeps coming to mind – Proverb 3:5-6. In the NLT it says…

Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.

This Scripture was one of my first memory verses and it has always stayed with me. It helps to remind that God is there, that He is in control and if I keep trusting Him and looking to Him, that He will show me what is next.
