Right in the middle

May 8th, 2007

One thing that I am really conscious of lately is being right in the middle of God’s will.

I believe with all my heart that God has a plan and a purpose for each of us. And it is only when we find out what that plan is, and then persue it with all of our hearts, will we ever be satisfied [or close as we can be] in this life.

For me, being at the centre of God’s will is vitally important. I don’t want to be to the left or the right of God’s will for my family and I. I don’t want something that is not of God…even if it is for a short time only…as it will mean that what God really wants for me would be delayed and I might actually miss it.

One thing I have learnt about seeking God’s will is to place all opportunities before God’s throne at His feet. Then I ask Him to give it back to you if it is His will. If it is not, I pray that He will take it away and the door will be closed. I am in the process of doing this at the moment. I know from past experience that He will take care of it in His timeframe.

How about you? Are you at the centre of God’s will for your life? Do you know what God has called you to do? Are you persuing it with all of your heart?

Here’s a few of my favourite Scriptures to meditate on concerning God’s will…

Ephesians 2:10 – For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight

Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Matthew 6:33 – But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
