Barnyard Leadership

March 7th, 2007

Today I watched the animated movie “Barnyard” with my kids. There was a great line in it which spoke to me about leadership. It was said at a time when the lead character was having a crisis of confidence and was not sure if he was right man (cow) for the job.

One of the people in his circle of friends came up and said, “It is not always the biggest or the strongest that makes the best leader. It is the one that cares the most“.

This simple reminder was enough to spur him on to do the things he knew deep down he wanted to do and the things that he knew he should do. It was the right words said at the right time!

Not only did I get to spend some time with my kids, but I got encouraged by an animated cow walking on two legs!!!
