We don’t learn what He did and do it. We take on his yoke and partner in his work. He is already working in our midst. We just need to recognise it and join in. I really like this one. I have read online about whole churches that actually follow the whole what did Jesus do mentality in all aspects of church life and doctrine. It turns into a religious exercise and works based very quickly. This does not allow freedom for God's Spirit to work. Key #1 - We don’t follow Christ’s example in pastoral care. I remember being at Church Together once in Perth and the crowd really coming to life for "How great thou art". It really showed me how important hymns are to many people. The thing that gets me is the depth of the words and meaning. Many of them are all about Jesus and what He has done for us. Yay for hymns too! Was so pleased when we sang one at the Apo church in Bendigo recently. It was a little tizzed up with drums playing etc but was certainly a lovely lovely hymn. Yay for hymns! The only difference for me was that I went to Joondalup Apo for about a year (very on and off) and then when I'd settled down a bit (read as met Dave) the church was closing so I was "homeless" until we tried Dianella Apo.
