Accepting Divine gudiance

July 29th, 2011

In my reading from Proverbs 29 today verse 18 jumped out at me. The NLT footnote was also really good too. I thought I would share them both today…

Proverbs 29.18 NLT – When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful.

Here’s the footnote…

“Divine guidance refers to words from God received by prophets. Where there is ignorance or rejection of God, crime and sin run rampant. Public morality depends on the knowledge of God, but it also depends on keeping God’s laws. In order for nations and individuals to function well, people must know God’s ways and keep his rules. Having God’s Word means little if we are not obeying it”

Knowing and being obedient to God’s Word makes our society a better place to live and brings joy to us all. Why? Because there is less crime, people love and care for each other and God is honoured in all we do.

God Bless,

Dave
